Children's Space: FAQ

WHAT ARE YOUR GROUP SIZES?

Our groups are tiny - a total of no more than six children each day with two or more adults. This allows us to offer an unparalleled level of care and connection!

As a mixed age group, younger children will learn from their older friends, while the more seasoned children gain confidence in their ever growing abilities!

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

Our current hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8am - 12pm and 1pm - 5pm.

We also offer Afternoon Out and Evening Out sessions each month, either on a Friday or Saturday.  We encourage families to drop off their littles and head out to spend some time on themselves!

You can't pour from an empty cup

This is one way we support our community to actively participate in self care.

WHAT IS SCHEDULING LIKE?

Our scheduling model allows for flexibility on the part of the adults, yet respects children’s need for consistency and relationship building.

Unlike traditional  child care models which require families to adhere to a rigid annual schedule of full or part time days, bloom tuition is charged on an hourly basis.  Families are asked to register for a minimum of 6 hours per week.  You are free to change your days at the beginning of each term.  Terms are as follows:

Winter/Spring: January - April

Summer:  May - August

Fall:  September - December

Should you need to make any changes before the end of a term, please let us know right away so we may discuss.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT SNACKS.  ARE YOU NUT FREE?

Families are asked to provide nut-free snacks each day.  Many of the infants in our care may not have been exposed to various nuts.  We respect a parent's right to take their time with allergen exposure.

WHAT DO I DO IF MY BABY IS EXCLUSIVELY BREASTFEEDING OR NEW TO SOLIDS?

If your child is exclusively breastfeeding and you'd like to begin using bottles, we're happy to discuss how to plan for the first few weeks!

If your little one is new to solids or finger foods, please cut or break snacks into pieces they can comfortably snack on.  Please remember to only send items your child has already tried at home.

HOW DO YOU SUPPORT THE BREASTFEEDING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BABIES AND MAMAS?

We have created comfortable spots throughout the room for mamas would who like to breastfeed in the Children's Space.  We also have two private rooms for babies who require a  distraction free space!

We plan each day around your baby's schedule.  Depending on their last breastfeeding session, snack, wake up and diaper change, we will work together to create a flexible schedule for the next four hours!
